Remote access

Each freistilbox cluster comes with a dedicated remote shell box which you can access in with your personal SSH key.

While it does not respond to web requests like the web application boxes, this box also stores your application code and has access to both shared file storage and database. So when you log in, you can see all your website’s code and asset files.

This allows you to execute commands for website operation and maintenance in a complete application environment. Here are only a few examples:

• Administer your Drupal website with the drush command line tool
• Use mysqldump to create a backup of your website database
• Configure cron jobs for periodic maintenance tasks

Since all these tasks will be executed on this dedicated machine, they will not take any capacity away from your web application boxes.
